Connie K. (Stark) Hess

Connie Kraft (Stark) Hess, 73, of Hummelstown, passed away with family by her side in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center on Saturday, June 15, 2013. She was born Saturday, May 11, 1940 in Hershey to the late Bruce G. and Lillian V. (Hartman) Stark. She is survived by her loving husband William “Bill” Hess.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Christi (Trump) Rhine and husband Dale; 4 step-children, Donna Jones and husband Peter, Dale Hess and wife Carol, Mike Hess and wife Marcy, and Dwayne Hess and wife Bridget; 16 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Shirley Mohr and the late James Mohr and Donna Huffman and husband Virgil. She is predeceased by a brother, Ira “Sonny” Stark.

Connie was active with her Palmyra High School class of 1958 and in the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey. She and her husband were faithfully involved in the lives of their children and grandchildren.  Connie, along with her sisters Shirley and Donna, managed the Palmyra Motel and Candle Glo Restaurant, a family business established by their parents, until the closing of the restaurant in 1981 and eventual sale of the property in 1990.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 18th at 11 AM at the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, 330 Hilltop Rd, Hummelstown, PA 17036 with Rev. David Martin officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial with will follow in Hernley’s Cemetery, Manheim.
