C. Marie Brandt, 79, of Mount Joy passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Manor Care in Elizabethtown. Born November 2, 1932 in West Donegal Township, she was the daughter of the late McLester Dohner and Anna Mary (Rensel)Dohner. She attended the former Union School in West Donegal Township, and Donegal High School in Maytown. She was a member of Christ Church, United Church of Christ,Elizabethtown. She was a life member of Rheems Fire Company where she served as kitchen manager for many years. She worked at the former Lancaster County Farm Diner,Servomation, and The Country Chef. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by five children, Robert L. (Cyndy) Brandt of East
Petersburg, James F. (Marian) Brandt of Bainbridge, Teresa M.
Mullhausen and Andrew F. (Sharon Drescher) Brandt of Elizabethtown, and Jon D. (Tammy) Brandt of Mount Joy, six grandchildren, Ian Brandt, Miranda and Gabrielle Brandt, Anne Marie Mullhausen, and Mason and Hayden Brandt, six step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Victor F. Dohner of Elizabethtown and Benjamin F.Dohner of Norristown, three sisters, Pearl R. Dohner of Lancaster, Helen A. Huber of Conestoga, and Mary K. Bowser of Salem, OH, and 33 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Rensel and David, Eli, and Leonard Dohner.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to Christ Church, United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022-2419, or Rheems Fire Company, PO Box 103 Rheems, PA 17570-0103.
There will be no viewing. In honoring Marie’s wishes her body is
donated to Humanities Gift Registry, a non-profit agency concerned primarily with the receipt and distribution of bodies donated to all medical and dental schools in Pennsylvania for teaching purposes. The Registry, formerly called the Anatomical Board, has been in existence since 1883.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 12, at 5:30 PM at Christ Church, United Church of Christ, 247 South Market Street, Elizabethtown. Friends may call from 4:30 PM until the time of the service. A luncheon and time of visitation will be held at the church immediately following the service.
