Clarence Dale Fox, 90, of Cornwall, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Cornwall Manor. Born on November 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Oscar Eugene and Verna Mae (Hetrick) Fox. He shared 68 loving years of marriage with his devoted wife, Eileen Jane (Nelson) Fox.
In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by his children: Melinda Sue Daubert and husband, Joseph; Jane Eileen Deacon and husband, Roger; and James Nelson Fox and wife, Gretchen. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren - Lindsay, Margaret, Natalie, Courtney, Abigail, and Alexander - and great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sophia. He is predeceased by his sister, Betty Fox.
Clarence concluded a distinguished career in education as Superintendent of the Palmyra Area School District. Throughout his career, he received numerous honors, including recognition as Outstanding Business Official of Pennsylvania. He also served as President of the Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13 School Business Officials. His dedication extended beyond his profession to his church, where he faithfully served in many roles over the years.
Clarence enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading and following sports. He especially took pride in watching his children and grandchildren participate in their athletic pursuits. He and Eileen also shared a love of attending concerts and shows together.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, with a celebration of life service beginning at 11:00 AM at Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, PA 17078. Interment will be private at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Cougar Foundation (formerly known as the Palmyra Area Education Foundation, PAEF) or Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
