Clair E. Young

Clair Elwood Young, 81, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in The Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.  He was born Thursday, January 18, 1934 in Manheim to the late Phares N. and Martha R. (Myers) Young.

Clair proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He retired from Hershey Foods where he was a member of Local 464 Chocolate Workers Union. Clair enjoyed the outdoors, watching the hummingbirds as well as hunting and fishing.  He kept his mind active by doing puzzle books.  Most importantly he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by 4 daughters, Debra K. Shirk and husband Richard, Dianne F. Kreider and fiancé Stan Snavely, Dawn M. Sabo and husband Fred, and Denise R. Ott and husband Rick; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Neil Young.  He was predeceased by 5 siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7 ^th at 7 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 6 PM until time of the service.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family with full military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
