Chris attended Shippensburg University after high school and got her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Later in life Chris felt a calling to go back to school where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University.
Chris was an active member in her community as well as her workplace and involved in many groups and organizations. After a long tenure with social work, she began her next chapter of life, senior care where after many years and hard work became the Vice President of Senior Care Operations for the Horst Group. Chris was also a member of PALA, Palmyra School Board, Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, First United Methodist Women, and the USO at Fort Indiantown Gap.
She also loved to travel the World and try new food wherever she went. Her favorite place to go on vacation was the beach, and her favorite past time while she was there was collecting sea shells. Chris also appreciated and valued her Irish heritage and loved to carry on her family traditions. Her favorite music was classic rock and loved to listen to Elton John while she was cooking, cleaning, working on a project, etc. She was a coffee connoisseur and had to have a cup every morning or her day would not go as planned.
Some of Chris’s favorite hobbies included gardening, picking and planting flowers around the house for every season, reading spiritual books and daily devotions, and watching Philly sports. In fact Chris and John attended game 5 of the World Series this past year in Philadelphia. Chris was always goal oriented and determined to finish anything that she started. She never gave up even if she failed. She would always try again until she succeeded. Her attitude and positivity towards life touched many souls and helped people get through difficult times, which will be greatly missed.
Chris was the rock of the family and always gave everything she had towards her children. Her wisdom, care, and unconditional love for each and everyone was prominent and strong. She always led by example and was never afraid to pave the correct path.
