Christine B. Clay, 83, of Masonic Village at Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 following a lengthy illness.  Chris was born in Allentown on Friday, February 26, 1932.  She was the daughter of the late Robert B. and Elizabeth F. (Friend) Brooks.  She was married to Henry A. Clay for over 62 years.

She is survived by her husband, Henry A. Clay; two sons, Stephen H. Clay and wife Anne V., of Camp Hill, PA; Andrew R. Clay, of Santa Monica, CA as well as three grandchildren, Adam H. Clay, Owen C. Clay and Mason A. Clay.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ann Clay in November of 1991 and a brother, Robert B. Brooks in July of 2013.

Chris graduated from Allentown High School, Allentown, PA with Honors on June 14, 1949.  She then graduated from the Temple University School of Dentistry with a certificate in Oral Hygiene on June 12, 1952, where she was first in her class.  On January 3, 1953, she married Henry A. Clay, then a 2 nd Lt. in the U.S. Army.   On May 20, 1978, Chris graduated from West Chester State College, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree of Bachelor of Sciences in Education.

At various times in her life, Chris moved from being a proficient piano player to seamstress as she made clothes for her children, to proficiency on the personal computer as well as being a Tax Consultant for H&R Block.  She pursued a lifelong interest in personal investing and she has been a life member of the American Association of Individual Investors since March of 1982.

Her parents were avid Duplicate Bridge Players and ACBL Golden Life Masters.  It comes as no surprise that Chris learned the game as she grew up and drew her husband Henry into the game when he became the “4 th for bridge” while he was courting her.  Chris became a Life Master in 1996.

Chris and Henry attended All Saints Anglican Church, an Independent Anglican Church, meeting at The Shreiber Center, 625 Community Way, Lancaster, PA.  Chris and Henry were also members of Mariners Church of Detroit, an Independent Anglican Church.
