Christ Junior Risser

Christ J. Risser, 69, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was born Wednesday, March 14, 1945 in Mt. Joy Twp. to the late Christ S. and Elsie O. (Shank) Risser. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris J. (Bechtel) Risser.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Christ was the owner of Hillside Welding in Manheim and a lifetime member of Milton Grove Sportsman Club. He enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife and was skilled at growing bonsai. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by a son, Scott Risser and wife Tracey; a daughter, Theresa Odell; 2 grandchildren, Branden Risser and Tyler Odell; 2 siblings, Janice Gantz and Robert E. Risser; and 2 nieces.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at 10 AM at Risser’s Mennonite Cemetery, 8360 Elizabethtown Rd., Elizabethtown 17022 with Rev. Samuel Fry officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022.
