Chester H. Shon

Chester H. Shon, age 82, of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 14, 2024.

Chet was born on July 7, 1941 to the late Chester and Helen (Denzel) Shon. He attended Bloomfield Tech before he started his career as a Newark, New Jersey police officer, where he honorably served the community for 30 years.

In his free time, Chet enjoyed woodworking, landscaping and cooking.  He loved having his backyard pool parties with family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, making the people around him laugh.  He was always the life of the party.  From time to time you could catch him enjoying a good beer and shot of whiskey.  Chet will be greatly missed and remembered by his loving and generous spirit.

Chet is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Judith Shon; children, Lisa and her husband Greg, and Victoria; grandchildren, Dana and her husband Ryan, Lauren and her husband Mike, and Connor; great grandchildren, Harper, Mila, and Charlie; stepchildren, Kelly, Michael, Leslie, and John; grandchildren, Kayla, Jessie, Samantha, Alicia, Niccole, Kevin, and Nicholas; and great grandchildren, Avery and Brandon.  He is preceded in death by his brother Eugene Shon, daughter Denise Shon, step daughter Stephanie Rogers, and his former wife Grace Shon Pannullo (nee Garrubbo).

A celebration of life will be held to honor Chet at the Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge  in spring of 2024.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge #2326 Special Children's Committee
