Charlotte "Lucy" Lucille (Horst) Chryst
January 9, 1923 — January 25, 2015
Born January 9, 1923, she was a life-long resident of Campbelltown, and was preceded in death by her husband Ellsworth (Red) Chryst and her parents Harry William Horst and Charlotte Lucille Felty Horst of Campbelltown.
She graduated from Hershey High School in 1940 and the Central Penn business College in 1941
She worked as a secretary at the Hershey Chocolate Company from 1941 until her retirement in 1985. During that time she had the honor of meeting Milton S. Hershey. Charlotte's assignments were in the Corporate Headquarters as Executive Secretary, rising to assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Hershey Chocolate.
Charlotte was a bride's maid at the wedding her best friend Miriam Wagner who married the Tonight Show star Jack Parr. She was a life member of the Campbelltown United Church of Christ, the Quentin Riding Club and the Campbelltown Fire Company.
In her earlier years she loved to play cards, dance, travel, play golf and worked on various community activities, most notably the Campbelltown Bell Project.
She is survived by a stepson James F. Chryst of New Providence, Pa.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Dwight C. Hein at the Salem United Church of Christ, 2761 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31. A public viewing will be held 1 hour before the funeral at 10:00 AM. Funeral Director will be the Rothermel Funeral Home, Palmyra, Pa. Interment will follow the funeral at the Salem Reformed Cemetery adjacent to the church.
