Charles J. “Jim” Andrews, 86, of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth (Zelenka) Andrews. He was the wife of Marie “Ginny” (Lewis) Andrews of Masonic Village.
A sales representative for 35 years, Jim was retired from American Tobacco. He served in the US Navy during WWII. A 60 year mason, Jim served as Worshipful Master of Emulation Lodge #728 in 1961. He transferred to Potter Lodge #441 in 1973 and that lodge subsequently merged with Philadelphia and became Lodge #72. He also served as Master for Lodge #72 in 1987, 1992 and 1996. He served as High Priest of Temple-Melitia Royal Arch Chapter #183, as well as Steward for Blue Lodge and the Masonic Veterans Club for several years. Jim was a recipient of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Award. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandson.
In addition to his wife Ginny, he is also survived by two sons: James E., husband of Lisa Andrews, Easton and Donald W., husband of Anna Andrews, Malvern; a grandson James V. Andrews; a brother Richard, husband of Grace Andrews, Florida and a sister Joan Bessano, New Hope.
A Funeral Service will be held onTuesday, August 28, 2012 at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 2:00 PM. Viewing will take place from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tree of Life, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
