Charles W. Keck
Charles “Chuck” William Keck, 68, of Palmyra, passed away with family and friends by his side at M.S. Hershey Medical Center on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. He was born Monday, July 10, 1944 in Harrisburg to the late Thomas E. and Betty J. (Gunderman) Keck. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Veronica M. (Surace) Keck.
Chuck was the best man one could ever know. He was a most loving father and husband who was a wonderful example of dignified living. He served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Boxer as an air traffic controller during the Cuban Blockade. He was passionate about playing tennis, golf, baseball, and church softball. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God in New Cumberland and the Italian Lodge in Hershey. After retirement Chuck began working part time as a bus driver for Traditions of Hershey.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Deidra Urban; 2 brothers, Thomas Keck and wife Romaine of Harrisburg and Timothy Keck of Norman, OK; a brother-in-law, Marino Gaspari and wife Liz of Harrisburg; best friend Thomas Yohe; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Monday, July 23, 2012 at Noon at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, with Pastor Don Matolyak officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 AM until time of the services. Burial will follow with full military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
