Charles Edwin Gaster
August 17, 1927 — February 12, 2022
Charles Edwin “Ed” Gaster, 94, formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Paramount Senior Living in Maytown. Born Wednesday, August 17, 1927 in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Mary Ellen (Hooper) Gaster. He was married nearly 70 years to Martha A. (Myers) Gaster who passed away in August of 2021.
Ed is survived by two sons: Edwin S. Gaster, married to Cathy, of Middletown and Brook A. Gaster, of Odenton, MD. Also surviving are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ellen “Meg” Siegel, who passed away in October 2021.
A US Navy veteran of WWII, Ed worked in banking his entire career, retiring after 40 years from what is now Wells Fargo.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 North Union Street, Middletown, PA 17057, 717-944-7413.
