Charles “Fred” Frederick Brightbill, 72, of Palmyra, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, May 12, 1942 in Hershey to the late Charles E. and Thelma J. (Hershey) Brightbill. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cheryl Lynn (Lewallen) Brightbill.
He graduated from Lower Dauphin High School, served in the PA National Guard, and retired from the PA Department of Transportation Legislative Unit. He was a member of Middletown Moose Lodge 410, Palmyra American Legion Post 72, PA State Workers Union, NRA, Derry Township Historical Society, US Concealed Carry Association, and Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association. He enjoyed camping, antique automobiles, NASCAR and anything related to history. Most of all he was a loving, husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by three daughters, Sherri Marquand and husband John of Fairfax, VA, Laurie Kim Cischek and husband Charles of Factoryville, PA, and Lesa Lewallen of Middletown; five grandchildren, Matthew Marquand, Thomas Lynn, Amanda Lynn, Charles Cischek, Jr., and Joseph C. Bauder; one brother, Gary E. Brightbill and wife Kathy of Phoenix, AZ.
Private burial will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg with Pastor Chris McAviney officiating. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
