“Marty” Carroll M. Leaf, Jr., 68, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Elizabethtown Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born Thursday, December 26, 1957 in Baltimore, MD. A 1975 graduate of Bowie High School, he was employed as a carpenter foreman for Deblin, Inc., Mechanicsburg.

A man of many talents and even more stories, Marty loved the outdoors. If it involved hunting, fishing, or sitting in front of a NASCAR race cheering for Dale Earnhardt Sr., he was all in. Marty was a member of Elstonville Sportsman Club, where he could best anyone in horseshoes or pool. He believed that a good day could always be improved with an occasional Budweiser, sometimes more than occasional, depending on the occasion. His life included adventures that sounded exaggerated but were, somehow, completely true—including wrestling a bear (the bear survived, but definitely remembered it) and working on rollercoasters at the Ocean City, Maryland boardwalk.

Marty is preceded in death by his father, Carroll M., Sr.; his mother, Lucille G. (Keeney) Leaf; and his sister, Lucinda Leaf. He is survived by four children, Joshua Leaf and his wife Heather of New London CT, Jacob Leaf and his wife Lindsey of Mount Joy, Kristin Dziedzic and her husband Joseph of Gillette, NJ and Nicholas Leaf of Staten Island, NY; eight grandchildren; and a sister, R. Valerie Mann and her husband Gary of Ohio.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.FinkenbinderFamily.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Marietta.
