Carolyn (Gassert) Harris

Carolyn (Gassert) Harris, 88, of Palmyra, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Tuesday, August 13, 1929 in Ono, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Margaret Gassert. She was the wife of Maj Gen Robert E. Harris USAF Ret. who passed away in August 2002.
Carolyn was a graduate of Palmyra High School, and earned a Bachelor degree in Music from Lebanon Valley College. She was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra. She was the choir director for many years at Faith United Church of Christ, Grantville, Pa., and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three sons: Thomas J. Schaak and his wife Sharon of Palmyra; William E. Harris and his wife Diane of Largo, Fl. and David A. Harris and his wife Noell of Lebanon.
Grandchildren: Danielle Schaak, Kyle and Meghan Harris
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Palm Lutheran Church, 11 West Cherry Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
