Carl S. Groff

Carl S. Groff, 54, of Elizabethtown, passed away on March 13, 2025, at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD. Born in Panama City, FL, he was the son of Carl R. Groff and the late Miriam (Forrey) Groff. He was married to his loving wife of 27 years, Zina M. (Ruff) Groff.

Carl spent his career working as an electrician.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Mount Joy. He was also a member of the Legion Riders, and was very active in their charity rides, especially to help veterans. Carl also helped with the Legion’s chicken BBQ, where he was known for making the best chicken around. He enjoyed shooting pool in his free time. He was active in the Boy Scouts, proudly earning his Eagle Scout badge. Above all, he will be remembered as a man who would help anyone who needed it.

In addition to his wife and father, Carl is survived by three children: Taigera Groff, James Groff, and Mary Groff; two stepdaughter, Kelsey Paynter and Ashley Paynter; 6 grandchildren; brother, Daniel Groff, and stepmother, Pat Groff.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help support the Lebanon VA Hospital. Checks can be made out to the Mount Joy American Legion Post 185 and mailed to 225 W. Main St, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
