Carl R. Garber, of Manheim, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the age of 88. Born October 21, 1934 in Hershey Pennsylvania.  He was the son of the late Raymond & Esther (Keefer) Garber. He was married 60 years to Sue (Kincannon) Garber who passed away in February 2017.

After graduating High School, Carl joined the Air Force.  He enlisted on April 17, 1953.  He went to James Connally AFB in Waco, TX.  The place where he met his future bride.  He became an aircraft mechanic and served in the Korean War.

Carl ended up owning his own food equipment company called MacCarl Food Equipment. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, watching wildlife, and collecting and working on clocks. He was a hardworking man who loved his wife and family. Carl loved driving for DB Fisher taking trips to New York city, Myrtle Beach and Branson Missouri. His faith for the Lord was beyond compare.Carl was a life long member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren. He will be missed greatly and remembered for his kind and gentle soul.

Carl is survived by his children: Scot Garber (Dawn Valdaliso),Carla Ryder, and Brent Garber (Lauralee Garber); seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; brother Bill Garber (Patt Garber). Preceded in death by siblings: Robert Garber, Mildred Johnson and Blanche Garber.

We welcome you to celebrate Carl’s amazing life on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 25 W Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. A visitation with family begins at 10:00 AM until the memorial begins at 11:30 AM.Carl will be buried with his wife at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following services.  The burial will be with full military honors.

Following services there will be a reception at the Community Club. Everyone is welcome.
