Blake John Shearer

Blake John Shearer, 16, of Bainbridge, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and friends at the Hershey Medical Center.  Born June 12, 2002, he was the son of Brooke N. (Shearer) Hook and Nathan J. Adams.

Blake was preparing to enter his junior year at the Elizabethtown Area High School.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging out with his friends.  He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed listening to music.  Blake also worked part-time at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, Elizabethtown.  Above all, he will be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

He is survived by his mother, Brooke, and husband, Kevin M. Hook, of Bainbridge; his father, Nathan J. Adams and fiancé, Deborah J. Henny, of Mount Joy; two step-sisters, Brianna L. and Hailey L. Hook; a half-sister, Anastasia J. Adams; maternal grandparents, Steven E. and Pamela J. Shearer, of Bainbridge and paternal grandparents, Donald L. and Cindy L. Stern, of Manheim; his uncles, Keith E. Shearer, Kyle S. Shearer, Jason L. Kaylor as well as a cousin, Khaliya R. Kaylor.  He was preceded in death by a cousin, Arianna Jean Ray.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.  Private burial will take place in Goods Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  There will be a viewing held at the church on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 PM and also at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Blake’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
