Betty J. (Norris) Stake

Betty J. Stake, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Saltillo, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Ann (Polinchak) Norris. She was the wife of William G. Stake of Elizabethtown. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 22nd.

Betty was a graduate of Orbisonia High School. A homemaker most of her life, she was also employed by the PA State Hospital for Crippled Children, Double Day Publishing and AMP, Inc. She was an active member of Chiques United Methodist Church, Mount Joy and was very involved with L.A.R.C.

In addition to her husband William, she is survived by four children: Cynthia Stake, at home; Connie, wife of Jeffrey Morgan, Vienna, VA; Penny Stake, Bainbridge and Randy, husband of Deanna Stake, Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a brother Edwin Norris of Shirleysburg, PA.

Betty was preceded in death by two sisters Kathleen Shank and Mary Meads, and a brother Herbert Norris.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Chiques United Methodist Church, 1215 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552 at 10:30 AM. Friends may call on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 until the time of service. Interment will take place in Amberson Union Cemetery, Amberson Valley, PA 17210 on Wednesday at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to L.A.R.C., 630 Janet Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601 or to Chiques United Methodist Church.
