Betty Jane Martin, 69, of Londonderry Township, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
She was born on Tuesday, January 23, 1945 in Hershey, PA to the late Melvin & Virginia (Via) Garrison.
Betty retired from M&M Mars after 29 ½ years of service in chocolate production.
She was a very active member of Grace Chapel, where she was a volunteer in the kitchen, a greeter and a member of the senior’s group.
Betty was an antique car collector, enjoyed metal detecting; she obtained great joy from the Christmas season as well as Christmas lights & fireworks displays. Most of all Betty enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her husband Thomas H. Martin, her three daughters Suzanne Hall and her husband Steven of West Hanover Township, Mary Jane Martin of Elizabethtown, Joanne Smith and her husband Daniel of Elizabethtown, a brother Moses Garrison and his wife Linda of Palmyra, four sisters Violet Taylor of Lebanon, Lucille Clugston and her husband Galen of Hummelstown, Susan Hoffman and her husband Robert of Naples, FL, Genevieve Lehman of Palmyra, four grandchildren Brandon Martin, Jenifer Hall, Ashley Martin, Dakota Smith , two great granddaughters Alexis Martin and Emma Fink. She was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond & Roosevelt Garrison.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, November 21, 2014 in Grace Chapel, 2535 Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown, Pa 17022. Burial will be in Conewago Church Cemetery.
Viewings will be on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6pm until 8pm and on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 9am until 10am in Grace Chapel.
