Elizabeth “Betty” Mae (Keener) Gruber, 89, of Ephrata, formerly of Bainbridge, PA passed away in the loving arms of her Savior with family by her side on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Ephrata Community Hospital. She was born Monday, May 14, 1923 in Manheim (“Sporting Hill”) to the late Jacob L. and Adeline E. (Good) Keener. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Menno Gruber, who passed away November 24, 2012.

Betty worked on the family farm alongside her husband for many years. She was a member of Elizabethtown United Zion Church where she faithfully worshiped for 43 years. She recently attended Middle Creek Church of the Brethren. Betty liked to keep her mind active by doing jigsaw and word search puzzles as well as being an avid reader. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and tending to her flowerbeds. Most importantly she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who cherished the time she got to spend with her family.

She is survived by a son, Glenn L. Gruber; 3 daughters, Carol A. Martin, Lois E. Good and husband Harold, and Marilyn F. Keller and husband Donald; 3 grandchildren, Heather Diener, Justin Gruber, and Chasity Saenz; 3 great grandchildren, Bradley Loyd, and Brent and Abby Saenz; and 2 siblings, Evelyn Good and husband Wilbur and Arthur Keener and wife Arlene. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Donald Gruber.

Family and friends are invited for viewing on Monday, March 18th from 6-8:30 PM at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, 17022. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 19th at 11 AM at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Rd., Lititz 17543 with Rev. Harold Brandt and Rev. John Hess officiating, with viewing from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Goods Mennonite Cemetery.
