Betty Jane (Lehman) Frye

Betty Jane (Lehman) Frye, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born Friday, April 9, 1943 in Lancaster to the late Carrie L. Lehman. She was married to Donald K. Barnett until his death in 1973. She was then married to Martin L. Frye until she was widowed in 1999.

Betty retired from Elizabethtown College’s Environmental Services Department. In her younger years she enjoyed going to the mountains. More recently she spent her free time sewing and spending time with her granddaughter, who she loved dearly. She loved children and was a crossing guard for the elementary school for many years.

She is survived by three children: Glenn D. Barnett of Elizabethtown, Michelle J. Frye of Marietta, and Melissa A. White of Elizabethtown, and a granddaughter Kaylanna N. White. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey M. Frye.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Reverend Samuel Fry officiating.

A Viewing will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, August 9 at the funeral home, and again on Friday from 10-11AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
