Betty Jean (Jacobs) Frederick, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. She was born on Saturday, July 28, 1934 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the late Florian and Julia (Rozyckie) Jacobs. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Frederick; son, James A. Frederick, and wife Tessa; three grandchildren, Margaret, Cecilia and Benjamin; and a brother, Carl Edward Jacobs and wife Susan. She is predeceased by three brothers, George, Florian and Leon Jacobs.
Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed creating and observing various forms of art. She painted, designed and produced crafts using flowers and was fond of classical music. Her needlework was impeccable and she knitted, embroidered and crocheted various elegant tapestries. Betty traveled the world with her husband and son, living for several years in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Always interested in culture, she made it her passion to understand the people and the traditions of the new places she lived and visited. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasure. Betty enjoyed spending time with them at the Masonic Village swimming pool, on nature walks and creating great plays and presentations to be shared with the family. As the grandchildren matured, she remained interested in their school activities, hobbies, plays and sports, and was always their biggest fan. Although battling dementia, she never waivered in her love for her family.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 at 10AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
