Beatrice J. (Olweiler) Troutman

May 1, 1925 — May 20, 2024

Beatrice J. (Olweiler) Troutman, 99, of Christiana formerly of ELizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2024.  She was born May 1, 1925, in Lancaster to the late Harvey and Ida (Hippensteel) Olweiler. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William N. Troutman Sr.

Beatrice started her working career young in manufacturing and was a housekeeper at Elizabethtown Crippled Hospital. She then owned her own in-home childcare center known affectionately as “Aunt Bea “. Beatrice finished her career at Elizabethtown Childcare Center. She also moved forward with obtaining her GED at the age of 54 which she was incredibly proud of. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years until she could not attend any longer. In her free time, she enjoyed flower gardening, she was admired by her green thumb. She also loved to read, all kinds of puzzles, embroidering, quilting and baking Christmas goodies.

She is survived by her sons, William Troutman (Joan) and Dan Troutman (Jill Berlin); grandchildren, Christopher Troutman, Michelle Mcellwee, Justin Berlin, Lindsay Troutman and William R. Troutman; 7 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Nellenbach and Ethel Lueders; a brother, Raymond Olweiler. She was predeceased by her children, Leonard Troutman and Beverly Retherford; grandchildren, Mark Rutherford and Robin Irvin; siblings, Lawrence Olweiler, Beulah Redcay and Fred Olweiler.

Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, June 7th from 10 to 11 AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Albert Domines officiating.  Burial will follow in Goods Mennonite Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
