Bartley Constantine Kaminski, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at M.S. Hershey Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Saturday, April 26, 1941 in Scranton to the late Bartley F. and Mildred (Posluzny) Kaminski. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beverly Diane (Mahle) Kaminski.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by faith, family, service, and a commitment to helping others. A 1959 graduate of Duryea High School, he was a standout football player whose leadership and determination were evident from an early age. He later attended King’s College and went on to build a successful career in computer sales, working with Inforex, Honeywell, and Tandem. His Catholic faith was the foundation of his life. He was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he faithfully lived out his calling as a servant of the Lord and His Church. Through stewardship and service, he gave generously of his time and talents, teaching CCD and Confirmation students and taking yearly field trips with his students to St. John Neumann’s. He read the Bible and prayed the Rosary daily, drawing strength and guidance from his faith. He was also an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. His love of community was evident in the many ways he served others. He coached Palmyra Civic baseball and midget football and was instrumental in reorganizing the midget football program. He believed in giving young people opportunities to learn, grow, and become the best versions of themselves. He also had a love for adventure and enjoyed racing his beloved convertible Jaguar, a reflection of his spirited personality and zest for life. Above all else, he loved his family. He treasured the time he spent with them and led by example, teaching those around him the importance of faith, kindness, hard work, service, and love. He lived for the Lord and sought to reflect his faith in everything he did. His legacy will live on in the family he loved so deeply, the many lives he touched, the young people he mentored, the church he faithfully served, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was, in every sense, a servant of the Lord—and his life was a testament to a faith well lived.
He is survived by two daughters, Tanya L. O’Connor and husband Devon of Mechanicsburg and Catherine Powers and husband Chris of Cheyenne, WY; four grandchildren, Sarah and Shane O’Connor, and Cassidy and Coleton Powers; a daughter-in-law, Nicole Kamiski of Lancaster; two step grandchildren, Ethan and Ellarie Clayton of Lancaster; a brother, Earl Thompson and wife Sharon of Duryea; a sister-in-law, Carole Thompson of Dunmore. He was predeceased by a son, Bartley Francis Kaminski on Thursday, July 22, 2021; a brother, Arnold Thompson.
