BARBARA J. HOFFMAN

Barbara J. Hoffman, 80, of Harrisburg, formerly of Waynesboro & Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

She was born on Friday, October 19, 1934 in Johnstown to the late Harvey S. & Edith A. (Whitnack) Oldham.

She was retired from the Richland School District as the school tax collector.

Barbara was a member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, Johnstown attended Emmanuel Baptist Church of Johnstown and Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. She was a member of the knitter’s club at Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed walks in Renfrew Park (Waynesboro), was a huge fan of the Duke Blue Devil’s basketball team, she also enjoyed being “Grammy” to all the children at Miss Sue’s Daycare in Waynesboro.

She was the widow of William J. Hoffman.

Surviving are two sons Scott Hoffman and his wife Yvonne Harhigh of Lower Paxton Township, Jay Hoffman and his wife Melissa of Manassas, VA, a daughter Beth Brooks and her husband Tony of Knoxville, TN, four grandchildren Danika Hoffman, Will Hoffman, Maggie Wilson and Dax Hoffman. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty O. Hiner and a brother Dean W. Oldham.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church, 100 South Church Street Waynesboro, PA. Visitation will be from 10am until 11am on Tuesday in the church.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Richland Cemetery, 1257 Scalp Avenue Johnstown, PA.
