Barbara E. (Burns) Gestewitz

Barbara E. (Burns) Gestewitz, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Elizabethtown.  Born Friday, September 15, 1944, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma (Snavely) Burns.  She was married to the late Charles Bomgardner.  After Charles’ death, she was married to the late Frederick “Bill” Gestewitz.  Her companion of over 17 years, Dennis “Denny” Fair survives at their home in Elizabethtown.

Barbara worked for Armstrong World Industries, Marietta, for over 12 years.

In addition to Dennis, she is survived by four children: Charles Bomgardner, married to June, Bradly Bomgardner, married to Tammy, Shelley Bowles, married to Michael, and Holly Martin, all of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jay Burns, of Middletown, as well as Barbara’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Burns.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  A time of visitation will be held from 5 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday.  Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
