Anna Mae (Lubold) Book

Anna Mae Book, 98, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at home. Born Saturday, December 5, 1925 in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late James and Elsie (Miller) Lubold. She was married 47 years to Jay R. Book who passed away in February 2009.

Anna Mae was a long-time member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, where she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school and also helped in the kitchen. She was retired from Lower Dauphin School District where she taught at Conewago Elementary School. Earlier, she taught in the Middletown School District. After retirement, Anna Mae worked for the Elizabethtown Child Care Center. She also enjoyed puzzles, gardening and canning, but most of all she loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Surviving are three children: Cheryl Grunden and husband John of Wrightsville; Glenn Book and wife Lia of Elizabethtown and Dawn Little and husband Ryan of Elizabethtown; and four grandsons: Miles Book, Avery Book, Brendon Little and Austin Little. She was predeceased by a brother Albert Lubold and a sister Rose Miller.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Paul’s Untied Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Conewago Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna Mae’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or to the Elizabethtown Child Care Center, 777 South Mount Joy Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
