Anna S. (Musser) Snavely

Anna S. (Musser) Snavely, 96, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at Manor Care, Elizabethtown, on Thursday, February 5, 2015 following a brief illness. She was born April 19, 1918 to the late Abram E. and Ruth (Shenk) Musser. She was predeceased in October of 2010 by her husband of over 71 years, Edgar D. Snavely. She was a member of the Elizabethtown High School class of 1936 and formerly attended Mt. Calvary Church and Dove Fellowship, both of Elizabethtown. For most of her life, Anna was a homemaker. From 1956 to 1971, she served as the head cook at Fairview Elementary School, Elizabethtown and also cooked at the Beulah Heights Conference Grounds, Elizabethtown. Anna loved to cook, entertain people in her home as well as raise flowers and share them with her friends. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be lovingly missed by a daughter, Rosene Speas, and husband Rev. Ralph F. Speas, of Bixby, Oklahoma; a son, Richard Snavely, and wife Linda, of Elizabethtown; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren as well as her extended family and caring friends. She was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, a brother, Henry Musser, and an infant sister, Betty Jane Musser. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11 AM at the Elizabethtown Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with her sonin-law, Rev. Ralph F. Speas, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Brethren In Christ Cemetery, Mount Joy. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until the time of the service on Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
