Anna Elizabeth (Heilman) Carpenter, 95, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Hershey, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Masonic Village Health Center, Elizabethtown. She was born Monday, October 1, 1917 in Palmyra to the late Morris and Laura (Forrest) Heilman. She was predeceased in 2003 by her loving husband Stanley M. Carpenter.
She was a member of Derry Presbyterian Church, Hershey, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Anna also volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader – known as “Little Chief,” and was a member of the Eastern Star. Anna worked in the kiss department at the Hershey Chocolate factory.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Brown of Masonic Village, and Mary Ellen Carpenter of Harrisburg; two grandsons, Eric Brown of Felton, CA, and Andrew Brown of Port Charlotte, FL; three great grandchildren, Nami, Noah, and Maxim.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 3 rd at 11 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with The Rev. Dr. Marie L. Buffaloe officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the funeral home from 10:30 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
