Allen E. Good, 84, departed on his journey to Heaven Sunday, May 29th with his wife Helen and son Dave by his side.  Born in Elizabethtown on February 12, 1932 to Ira M. and Mildred E. Good, Allen was the oldest of five children.  He is survived by his wife Helen G. (Snyder) Good, son Dave (Karen) and daughters Lori (Greg) Epps of Elizabethtown and Debbie (Rick) Bautista of Cape Coral, FL.  He is also survived by his sister Jean (Jim) Heigel and brothers Bob of Elizabethtown, Dale (Georgia) of Maytown and Jay (Marilyn) of Harpers Ferry, WV.  In addition to many nieces and nephews, Allen is survived by 6 grandchildren:  Amanda, Andy and Alex Good , Sam and Rebecca Epps of Elizabethtown and Brad Bautista of Tampa, FL.

Allen was well known in the community as a trusted and respected homebuilder and faithful member of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren where he and Helen served as deacons for over 40 years.  He and Helen celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 1, 2016.  Allen loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, never missing a deer-hunting season until his sight started to fail.  He enjoyed spending time at Honey Creek cabin with friends and family.  Known as “Goodie” to his many friends, he lived a simple and humble life, growing up on farms, learning the value of hard work and the joy of having good friends and family by his side.  He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have him touch their lives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11 AM at Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mt. Joy St., Elizabethtown 17022 with Pastor Pam Reist officiating.  Burial will follow the service at West Greentree Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday, June 2nd from 6-8 PM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown and on Friday, June 3rd at the church from 10 AM until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren or Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17601.
