Alfred S. Doss III

Alfred Smith Doss, III, died at home on Monday, October 17, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Melrose Park, IL, he was the son of the late Alfred S. Doss, Jr. and Marjorie Doss (Albee). He is survived by his wife of 44 years Margaret A. (Schmidt) Doss.

Al was a veteran of the U.S. Army, working at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. He was a skilled saxophone player who traveled to Hershey, Harrisburg, and surrounding areas playing with bands.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Rachel M. McCleary (Tim) of Morrisville, and Erin J. Doss of Palmyra; five grandchildren: Donovan, Emily, Daniel, Ava, and Nathan, and one sister Judy Doss of Clarks Summit.

Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
