Alex (Aziz) Houri, Phd

Alex (Aziz) Houri, PhD, 87, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Josette (Agouri) Houri.

He came to the United States in 1967, earned his Masters Degree from Columbia University and his Doctorate from Rutgers University.  He retired from the Bayer Corporation after 32 years of service.  Alex was kind, gentle, humble, loving and caring, putting his family and faith first in all that he did.   He was a faithful and active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening at his home.

He is survived by a daughter, Marie Bauer and husband Chris of Palmyra; a son, Paul Houri and wife Kristen of Hillsborough, NJ; six grandchildren, Katarina, Andrew and Elliana Bauer and Kaitlyn, Alex and Ryan Houri.

A private graveside service will take place in Hershey Cemetery, Hershey.  Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra has been entrusted with the arrangements.
