Adella L. Brandt, 93, of Lebanon, died unexpectedly on May 11, 2014, at her home. She was born on September 20, 1921, to the late Oscar K. and Eva (Laudermilch) Kreider and reborn through faith in Jesus Christ in 1937. She was married to Adam M. Brandt for 47 years until his death in 1992.
Adella was a member of Lebanon Valley Bible Church and also participated in local Farm Women’s groups for many years. Although her formal education was limited, she used an abundance of common sense, amazing creativity, and deep compassion to bless others. She spent her life on the family farm and instilled the principles of hard work, unconditional love, and faith in God unto the fourth generation. She especially enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time with her large family.
She is survived by a daughter, Miriam, married to Rev. Dr. Fred Moury, Lititz; three sons: Harold, widower of Joyce (Game), Homer, AK; David, married to Cyndi (Gross), Lebanon; and Donald, married to Donna (Shomper), Lebanon; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Sarah Bensing, Erma Putt, and Martha Peiffer, and three sisters-in-law: Rosanna Slayton, Sarah McKay, and Elizabeth Myer.
A memorial service will be held at Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, on Friday, May 16, at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to her church at the address above.
