William W. Long

William W. Long, 84 of Elizabethtown, formerly of Drexel Hill, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Friday, January 29, 1932 in Friendship, MD, he was the son of the late Wilmer H. and Anna L. (Douglas) Long. He was married 45 years to Harriet A. (Blum) Long who died in July 2005.

Mr. Long worked for 33 years for Eastern Baptist Seminary retiring as chief accountant in 1997. He was a former member, deacon and elder of Riverview Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill. He was a member of Community Lodge #744, F&AM, Broomall, Del-Hi Grotto and Donegal Area High 12 Club. He enjoyed Pinochle, and was a member of Sell Chapel where he sang in the Men’s Chorus and participated in the Bell Choir.

Mr. Long is survived by two sons: Raymond L. Long of Upper Darby and David W. (Dawn) Long of Wilmington, DE; three grandchildren and siblings: Richard (Barbara) Long of Ocean City of NJ; James A. (Carol) Long of Texas and Carol A. (Robert) Sweet of West Grove, PA.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. Interment will take place in Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills, PA at 2:00 PM
