Roberta "Bertie" Alma (Geyer) Watts

Roberta A. “Bertie” (Geyer) Watts, 91, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at her home in Swatara Township on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  Born Saturday, September 14, 1929, in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Maude Geyer.  She was married to Paul E. Watts, Sr. for over 35 years until his death on April 16, 1981.

Bertie enjoyed her time working at the Big M, H.B. Reese Candy Co., Loving Arms Daycare and Doc’s Roller Rink.  When she wasn’t working, she loved spending time with her grandkids, playing cards and listening to live music at local carnivals.

She is survived by five children: Deloris “Dee” Ensor, of Bainbridge, Richard Watts and his companion, Patricia Arroyo, of Highspire, Dennis Watts, married to Dianne, of Delaware, Glenn Watts, Sr., married to Barbara, of Middletown and Kathy J. Fies, married to Victor, of Harrisburg.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as Bertie’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings and a son, Paul E. Watts, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday.  Everyone attending is required to wear a face covering as well as practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Central PA.
