Richard L. Drescher
February 5, 1939 — December 23, 2015
Richard L. “Dick” Drescher, 76, of Mount Joy, passed away at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born Sunday, February 5, 1939 in Elizabethtown, PA to the late Luther Augustus Drescher, Sr. and Stella (Bixler) Drescher.
A Veteran, Dick proudly served with the U.S. Navy. He retired in 2001 from the former Grinnell Corp., Columbia where he was employed for over 36 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Bainbridge Fire Company.
He will be lovingly missed by a son, Charles E. Drescher and wife Tracy, of Mount Joy; a daughter, Angela “Sis” Drescher and companion Barry Caplinger, of Marietta; two grandchildren, Justin and Nicole Drescher, both of Mount Joy; a sister, Shirley A. Price and husband Richard, of Bainbridge as well as Dick’s extended family and caring friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Janice M. Brown and four brothers, Luther A. Drescher, Jr., Clifford A., Charles S. and Carl B. “Squink” Drescher.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Mount Annville Cemetery, Annville, PA with Military Honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.
