Anna Mae (Givens) Zeager

Anna Mae (Givens) Zeager, 97, formerly of Elizabethtown, entered the presence of her Savior on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz, where she had been residing for the past several years.  She was born March 23, 1919, in Middletown to the late Arthur T. and Sadie L. (Longenecker) Givens.  She was married to Pastor Russel S. Zeager for 62 years until his passing on October 31, 2002.

A homemaker for most of her life, Anna Mae was a lifetime member of Strickler’s Mennonite Church, Middletown, where her husband served as a pastor for 45 years.  She was an excellent seamstress, quilter and also enjoyed reading.  She loved spending time with her family at the family cabin in Union County, PA.

She is survived by six children: Lloyd Zeager, of Lancaster; Mary E. Sweikert, of Leola; Sam Zeager and wife, Joy, of Elizabethtown; Mim Campos and husband, Cliff, of Elizabethtown; Marti Greiner and husband, Jay, of Harrisburg; Margie Kauffman and husband, Marlin, of Mifflintown; two grandchildren, Tim Zeager and wife, Melissa, of Ellerslie, GA, and Megan Hoffman and husband, Luke, of Fogelsville as well as three great grandchildren, Owen and Layla Zeager and Emma Mae Hoffman.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Clarence and Norman Givens.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Strickler’s Mennonite Church, 3256 Schoolhouse Road, Middletown, PA  17057 with Pastor Edward N. Meyers and Pastor Philip Oberholtzer officiating.  Burial will follow in Shope’s Mennonite Cemetery, Highspire.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and also at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
